Choosing your Cuban link

What is a Miami Cuban link chain?

A Miami Cuban link is a chain made of thick, oval interlocking links that are tightly joined and flattened so the chain lies flat against the skin. It became an icon of Miami style and hip-hop culture, and it is known for its weight, smooth feel and durability. What is the difference between a 10K and a 14K gold Cuban link chain?

The difference is the amount of pure gold. 10K gold is 41.7% pure gold, and 14K gold is 58.3% pure gold. A 14K chain has a richer yellow color and a higher gold value, while a 10K chain is harder, more scratch-resistant and more affordable for the same width and weight.

Both are real, solid gold. Compare our 10K gold Cuban link chains and our 14K gold Cuban link chains.

Is a 10K gold Cuban link chain worth it?

Yes, especially for a heavy chain you plan to wear every day. Because 10K gold is harder, it holds up well to daily wear, and it lets you go wider or heavier for the same budget. If you want the deepest gold color and the highest gold content, choose 14K. See all 10K Cuban link chains.

Are Grimal Cuban link chains solid or hollow?

Grimal Cuban links are made in solid gold. A hollow chain looks big but is light, dents easily and is very hard to repair. A solid chain is heavier, keeps its shape for decades and holds more gold value. Shop our solid gold Cuban link chains.

What width of Cuban link chain should I choose?

It depends on the look you want:

  • 2.5mm – 5mm (micro Cuban): subtle, everyday wear, great for women, layering or a first chain.
  • 7mm – 9mm: the classic men’s Cuban link, noticeable but easy to wear daily.
  • 10mm – 12mm: a bold statement chain.
  • 13mm and up: heavy, iconic pieces that stand out from across the room.

What length of Cuban link chain should I get?

As a general guide for men, 18″ sits close to the base of the neck, 20″ rests on the collarbone, 22″ falls just below it, and 24″ or longer sits on the chest. Wider chains usually look best a little longer. Our micro Cuban chains come in 18″ to 26″, and our Cuban link chains can be made to the length you need.

Can I get a matching Cuban link bracelet?

Yes. A matching chain and bracelet in the same karat and width is one of the most popular combinations. Our micro Cuban bracelets come in 7″ to 9″. See all Cuban link bracelets.

Do you make diamond Cuban link chains?

Yes. We offer Cuban links with diamonds set into the links, as well as diamond and custom box locks. See our diamond prong-set Cuban links and our Cuban link locks.

Do you make Cuban links in rose gold or other colors?

Yes. Rose gold is available on request for many of our Cuban links. Contact us with the width, length and karat you want and we will give you a quote.

Handmade quality and authenticity

Are your Cuban link chains handmade in Miami?

Yes. Our Cuban links are handcrafted in our Miami atelier, link by link, and finished by hand. That is what gives them their tight fit, flat lay and mirror polish. Learn more about our handmade Cuban link chains and bracelets.

Why can the final weight of a handmade chain vary?

Because each chain is made by hand, the final weight can vary by about +/- 6 grams from the listed weight. Any difference is adjusted after manufacturing, so you only pay for the gold in your chain. Micro Cuban weights may vary by less than 1 gram.

How do I know my Cuban link is real solid gold?

Every Grimal Cuban link carries the registered Grimal seal and comes with a Grimal authenticity certificate with its own code. You can verify your certificate here. Our handmade 14K and 10K chains are stamped with their karat.

Price, delivery and buying

How much does a gold Cuban link chain cost?

The price of a solid gold Cuban link depends mainly on its weight, its karat (10K or 14K) and the current price of gold. A micro Cuban costs a fraction of a heavy 13mm chain, and 14K costs more than 10K for the same size. Each product page shows the current price for every width and length. Check today’s gold price per gram, then compare our 10K and 14K Cuban link chains. Prefer Spanish? Read our Cuban chain price guide.

Do you offer financing on Cuban link chains?

How long does it take to receive my Cuban link chain?

If your chain is in stock, it ships right away. If it needs to be manufactured in your width and length, please allow 2 to 3 weeks. Orders over $7,500 ship free.
